A good session is about more than the game. It is about meeting new people, putting the phones away, learning a new skill and having a real conversation around the table.

Mahjong Socials by IWD runs mahjong classes, social events and tournaments at venues across Dubai. Previous sessions have been held in Jumeirah, BurJuman Mall, Silicon Oasis and Arabian Ranches, and the venue changes from batch to batch.

If you have a group of four or more, our instructor can come to your home or office instead. New batches launch almost every week, and all of them are announced first on our Instagram and in our community.

No. Mahjong Socials by IWD is completely beginner friendly and no prior experience is needed. Our classes include guided teaching from experienced instructors, and you can choose between Taiwanese and American mahjong.

Sets are provided, so there is nothing to bring. Social events are a relaxed way to practise once you have learned, and one to one classes are available if you would rather start privately.

Pricing depends on the format you choose. Learning in a group class with four friends is the most affordable option, and one to one sessions with an instructor can be arranged for anyone who wants personalized teaching. Prices for social events and tournaments vary by event.

Mahjong Socials by IWD is open to everyone, from complete beginners to experienced players, and you can join on your own, with friends or as a group. A table needs four players, so group games are formed from whoever has booked that session.
